Поводом 150 година од рођења архитекте Николе Добровића, организован је конкурс за идејно рјешење реконструкције вјероватно најзначајнијег Добровићевог дјела - зграда Генералштаба, које су тешко оштећене у НАТО агресији на Србију и Црну Гору 1999. године. Концепт обнове утемељен је на ревитализацији оштећења који је зграда доживјела и савременој интерпретацији Добровићевог језика.
Процјеп у објекту А постао је скалиран и интерпретиран као “уједен” волумен видљив на фасади, симболишући рану која није у потпуности зарасла.
Обзиром на трагичне догађаје из 1999., са новим животом објекта дошла је и нова, меморијална и музејска функција са пратећим садржајима, док је један дио објекта предвиђен да буде реновиран и враћен у пређашњу функцију. Сама реконструкција објекта шаље поруку снаге и виталности друштва, а значајно Добровићево дјело, и уопште дјело српске и југословенске архитектуре - бива сачувано.

Project description:
On the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the birth of the architect Nikola Dobrović, a competition was organized for the conceptual solution of the reconstruction of probably Dobrović's most significant work - the General Staff building, which was badly damaged in the NATO aggression against Serbia and Montenegro in 1999. The renovation concept is based on the revitalization of the damage the building has experienced and the modern interpretation of Dobrović's language.The gap in building A became scaled and interpreted as a "bitten" volume visible on the facade, symbolizing a wound that has not fully healed.
Considering the tragic events of 1999, with the building's new life came a new, memorial and museum function with accompanying contents, while one part of the building is scheduled to be renovated and returned to its previous function. The very reconstruction of the building sends a message of the strength and vitality of the society, and Dobrović's significant work, and the work of Serbian and Yugoslav architecture in general, is preserved.
